The
National IT Literacy Programme (L1) is a national Information
Technology programme designed by the Info-Communications
Development Authority (IDA) of Singapore and funded by Ministry
of Manpower (MOM). |
COURSE
OBJECTIVE
The objective of this
programme is to equip Singaporeans with basic IT literacy skills so as
to enhance their employability and improve their quality of life. On
completion of this programme, participants are able to go online and
enjoy the benefits of a e-lifestyle.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This programme is specially
customised for senior citizens, homemakers as well as the general
public.
COURSE CONTENTS
The contents of the modules
are customized to address the specific needs of the three groups and be
made available in simple English. Below is the brief description of the
modules.
Module 1: Orientation/Information Search (3.5 hours)
This module is to develop trainees with an understanding of keyboard,
mouse usage and computer boot up, and to impart to trainees the
knowledge and skill of keyboarding, boot up and shut down of computer,
dial up, surfing and information search.
Module 2: Going Online/Communication (3.5 hours)
This module provides an understanding of electronic mailing and online
transaction. Trainees will learn the skill of electronic mailing, email
file attachments, email housekeeping, as well as skill of going online.
Module 3: Going Online/Entertainment (3.5 hours)
This module provides an understanding of online chatting and online
entertainment. Trainees will acquire the knowledge and skill of Internet
Relay Chat and joining online entertainment, e-community, etc., upon
completion of this module.
